Sunny new build, Worcester

The thing with new houses built on the site of an old factory is that the soil is pretty poor and in some cases, shockingly non-existent. So it was a happy accident that I designed this garden with several raised beds! Some areas still needed digging out and filling with lots of new topsoil and compost.

This garden is south facing, which is baking hot in the summer and in spite of the apparent small size, a bespoke pergola and small tree fit in really well to create shade and interest.

Sleeper raidsed beds, planed bench and pergola built by Worcester Timber Products.

Paths and seating area by house were made using block paving edge and self binding gravel.

Photo’s below show the before, some design images and the finished garden (minus the tree which will be planted in the autumn).
